SF Softball: Santa Fe Splits with St. Petersburg, Clinch Season Series over Titans

February 22, 2018 – St. Petersburg, FL – The FCSAA #10 Santa Fe Saints (14-6-1) split a double header on the road Thursday evening, taking the second game to clinch the season series over St. Petersburg College.  SF defeated the Titans twice in Gainesville on February 17.

St. Pete won a marathon game one in nine innings, rallying four separate times, the last coming when they plated two in the ninth to win 5-4.

Kaylan Tucker went the distance for SF, taking the tough luck loss.  SF had eight hits as a team and four different players had one RBI each.

In game two, the Saints used two three run innings to defeat St. Pete, led by a three RBI effort from Emily Yakel, giving her 22 for the season.

Giulia Fiorentini and Bailee Moll each had an RBI and Kaitlyn Bennett, Moll, and Yakel had two hits each.

Allie Sievers earned the win in the circle with 5.1 innings pitched and Jamie Adams picked up the save, tossing the final 1.2 innings.

The Saints are on the road Saturday at State College of Florida for a double header at 3:00 p.m.
