March 22, 2018 – The Santa Fe Saints picked up a crucial road Mid-Florida Conference win Wednesday, run ruling conference front runners the College of Central Florida 11-1 in six innings. For the 2018 season, the MFC has adopted the NJCAA run rule of ending a game if a team is leading by 10 runs after five innings or eight runs after seven innings for conference games. The win moves SF to 24-6 overall and 5-2 in the MFC.

Max McKinley (5-0) was again stellar on the mound. Allowing just one run over six innings, his third complete game in a row. He’s allowed just one run total over his last 24 innings pitched, striking our 22 with just two walks.

The big inning for the Saints came in the fifth when they plated seven runs, punctuated by a three run Andrew Eyster homerun.

The Saints had 14 hits as a team. Eyster finished the game 3-for-5 with three RBI and a homerun. Parker Beiderer was 3-for-3 with two RBI rom the number nine spot in the lineup.

SF and Central Florida will match up again Friday in Gainesville at 3 p.m.
