SF Baseball: Saints Await Opponent for Afternoon Elimination Game

May 15, 2018 – The Santa Fe Saints (39-10) finished their rain-suspended game from Sunday and defeated Tallahassee Community College 6-3 in the FCSAA Tournament Monday afternoon.

Rainy weather in Lakeland has severely impacted the scheduling of games, and the Saints are still awaiting their opponent for today. SF is scheduled to play at 4 p.m. against the winner of the State College of Florida vs. Chipola game, which is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. State College of Florida is the top-seeded team in the Tournament, Chipola is third, but defeated the Saints 4-1 Saturday.

The forecast for Lakeland is calling for a partly cloudy, but dry morning, with the increasing likelihood of showers and thunderstorms right around the scheduled 4 p.m. start time for the SF game.

The Saints would need to win today, plus twice more in Games 14 and 15 of the tournament to be crowned champions. Weather permitting, those games would be scheduled tomorrow, but tournament officials have not made that announcement as of yet.
