June 19, 2018 – Santa Fe College Police Officer Joseph Buckland is being recognized for his service to the community and is a recipient of the VALOR Award presented by WSKY 97.3 FM radio. Officer Buckland has been with the SFPD since 2013 and has been instrumental in helping the department on innovative police tactics and training. Buckland is credited with going above and beyond to provide quality service to the population at SF and the surrounding community.
The radio station has been recognizing first responders in the region with the VALOR Awards for the last five years. Officer Buckland will pick up his award during a ceremony Thursday, June 21, in Ocala.
