New Traffic Pattern on NW 39th Avenue During Construction Project

Map of the area of construction on NW 39th Avenue just west of Main Street.

July 11, 2018 – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will be closing all traffic lanes of NW 39th Avenue just west of Main Street to rebuild the railroad crossing. The project is scheduled to begin at 6 a.m. Thursday, July 12, and end by 6 p.m. Friday, July 20.

The FDOT recommends using NW 53rd Avenue as a detour around the construction area. For motorists heading west on NW 39th Avenue, they will have to turn right onto Main Street, left onto NW 53rd Avenue, and right on NW 6th Street to get back to NW 39th Avenue. Travelers heading east will need to turn left onto NW 6th Street, right on NW 53rd Avenue and right on Main Street to get back to NW 39th Avenue. Motorists should expect increased traffic and potential delays along the detour route.

Because the area of construction is located between the Northwest Campus and the Institute of Public Safety at SF’s Kirkpatrick Center, SF employees may be impacted by the change in traffic patterns. Please allow additional commute time, if necessary.
