SF Volleyball: Saints Remain Undefeated After Campus USA/Santa Fe College Classic

August 27, 2018 – The Santa Fe College volleyball team picked up three wins over the weekend at the Campus USA/Santa Fe College Classic in Gainesville. The Saints are now 4-0 on the season.

SF opened the weekend with a 3-0 win (25-21, 25-20, 25-11) over Gulf Coast State Friday evening. The Saints were paced by sophomore outside hitter Aspen Dangren who had 13 kills and a .478 hitting percentage. Leah Wilcox and Brooke Ruud chipped in with 10 kills each.

The Saints won both Saturday contests, besting Palm Beach State 3-2 (30-32, 22-25, 25-14, 25-13, 15-8). Wilcox led all Saints with 20 kills and hit at a .261 clip. Kissimmee native, Dangren added 15, while Sophomore middle blocker Jocelyn Garcia had 8 kills and hit .412.

SF defeated Daytona State College in the final match of the day 3-1 (15-25, 25-22, 25-21, 26-24). Brooke Ruud lead all attackers with 17 kills and a .567 hitting percentage. Hannah Rodriguez had 21 digs to add to the Saints defensive effort that included 13 total blocks.

The Saints will continue their home stand with a Tuesday night match this week against Hillsborough Community College at 6 p.m.
