Dept. of Veterans Affairs to Bring Focus Group to SF Sept. 24

September 10, 2018 – The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs will be holding a VA focus group Monday, Sept. 24, from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. in Building R, Room 01. The purpose of the focus group is to reach out to student veterans, particularly the Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF), Operation Iraqi Freed (OIF) and Operation New Dawn (OND) population that are currently utilizing VA services in order to get feedback and hear comments regarding their healthcare at the VA.

The hope is to get unfiltered and honest comments which will help the VA improve services, evaluate existing processes, and to help resolve any current issues. All of the information collected will be confidential. The VA will not disclose who actually participated, and is hoping for at least 30-50 veterans to participate.

The focus group will be moderated by a staff psychologist from the VA. Other attendees from the VA will include the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System Executive Leadership, Public Affairs, our Transition Care Management Case Managers, Women Veterans Program Manager, a Veterans Service Officer/Claims Examiner, my HealtheVet Coordinator and other programs as well.

For additional information, or if you are a veteran at SF who would like to participate, please contact Stephen Perdue at stephen.perdue@va.gov or call 352-548-6000 ext. 4797.
