SF Amateur Radio Society Simulated Emergency Test

October 8, 2018 –  The Santa Fe College Amateur Radio Society will be participating in a Simulated Emergency Test (SET) conducted jointly by the North Florida Amateur Radio Club (NFARC) and the Gainesville Amateur Radio Society (GARS). The test will be conducted Saturday, Oct. 13, beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the grassy area across the parking lot north of Building O on SF’s Northwest Campus. SET is conducted at various times in October throughout the US and Canada under the umbrella of the Amateur Radio Emergency Service.

The point of SET is to test and improve the ability of local amateur radio operators to work in conjunction with public service agencies and non-governmental organizations in providing effective, professional, and reliable emergency communications support.
