My brother always told me, forget about being good. Just paint. When you drop your inhibitions and fears, and you just go for it, you have nothing to lose. Things start coming together. I wouldn’t be here if that wasn’t true. I did my A.S. degree here in graphic design while I was a baker. When I decided to leave all that, I came and talked to one of my instructors. She told me the position for coordinator had opened. The deadline was that same day at 4 p.m. I handed my application to HR as they were closing the door, and I got the position. When the director of the program moved, I applied for that job and got it, too. I wouldn’t say it’s miracles that do it, but little accidents that coincide to make it happen for you. Show up. Jump into the deep end just for the pleasure of breaking the surface. It can be scary, but very exciting.
