SF Ethics Bowl Wraps Up Impressive Fall Season

December 5, 2018 – Santa Fe College’s Ethics Bowl team will be recognized during the Humanities and Foreign Languages department meeting Friday at 2 p.m. for a successful fall season.

Last weekend, the team traveled to Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, where they finished third in the competition. SF won two of the three rounds of competition, with their only loss coming to the eventual Ethics Bowl champions.

The trip to Utah was just two weeks after the Ethics Bowl team competed in the Mid-Atlantic Regional Ethics Bowl at the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega. The team fared well, finishing in seventh place out of 18 teams. The SF Ethics Bowl team, the only two-year college at the event, finished higher than many four-year institutions, including Wake Forest, UNC-Chapel Hill, and the University of Mississippi.

Special thanks goes to President Jackson Sasser, Ethics Bowl coach Ann Thebaut, Bill Stephenson, Ron Claypool, Claire Orenduff-Bartos, Lisa Charney, Chris Zurheide, Jason Frank, Student Life, the Humanities and Foreign Languages department, and everyone else who provided support to the Ethics Bowl team during the past year.

SF faculty and staff members who are able to, are invited to stop by the HFL department meeting Friday, Dec. 7, at 2 p.m., Building P, Room 263, to meet and congratulate this season’s amazing group of students.
