SF Basketball: Women on Four-Game Win Streak; Men Split Weekend

December 10, 2018 – The Santa Fe College women’s basketball team are now on a four-game winning streak following an 84-75 win over St. Petersburg State College in St. Pete.

Janasia Law led the team with 22 points, including three 3-pointers in the opening quarter giving the Saints an early 12-0 lead. Airneisha Gamble, Camille Pringle and Rhea Smith each scored 10. Gamble also pulled down 11 rebounds to record the double-double for the game.

The win moves SF’s record to 8-4 on the season.

The SF men’s basketball team went 1-1 over the weekend during the Florida College System Men’s Basketball Shootout.

Saturday, Ryan Leonard’s 20 points led SF to an 83-51 victory over ASA-Miami. Admir Besovic scored 12 and picked up nine rebounds and Isaiah Islam scored 10.

Sunday, the Saints fell to St. Petersburg College 87-76 to drop SF to 9-5 on the season.

Both the men’s and women’s team will be off for finals week before returning to action Saturday, Dec. 15. The men travel to take on Polk State College and the women will be at Eastern Florida State College. Both games are scheduled for 2 p.m.
