January 29, 2019 – Four SF pitchers combined for a 3-hit shutout to earn a 2-0 win over Tallahassee Community College in the capital city Monday. The win improves the Santa Fe Saints baseball team to 4-0 on the season.
Michael Paul (1-0) earned the win, allowing just two hits and one walk over the first five innings while striking out seven. Tyler Jones, Austin Bass and Emanuel Fernandez, who earned his first save of the season, finished the job for the Saints.
“Our pitchers did a great job of pounding the strike zone and we played errorless ball,” said Saints head coach Johnny Wiggs. “Anytime you do those things you give yourself a good chance to win.”
SF pitchers have allowed just four earned runs over their first four games.
The Saints will host Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College for a 3 p.m. game Wednesday.
