Volunteers Needed for Girls Rock Camp

April 29, 2019 – Volunteers are needed for this year’s Gainesville Girls Rock Camp, which will be held at the Santa Fe College Blount Center June 24-28. Gainesville Girls Rock Camp is a 501c3 non-profit that uses music and performance to encourage self-esteem and creative self-expression in girls, trans, and non-binary youth. Following the week-long camp at the Blount Center, there will be a showcase held at High Dive Saturday, June 29.

All volunteers must be 18 or older and will be subject to a criminal background check. Unpaid internship positions are also available through an application process. No musical experience is necessary to volunteer.

Camp volunteers receive valuable experience and professional development training in non-violent communication, harm reduction, positive youth development, conflict resolution, camp safety and GGRC’s mission and goals. To learn more, visit www.gainesvillegirlsrockcamp.com or attend the GGRC volunteer meet and greet Monday, May 6, from 6-8 p.m. at the Civic Media Center in Gainesville.
