Call for Volunteers for the 2019 Mindsets for STEM Institute

June 24, 2019 – The Florida-Caribbean Louis Stokes Regional Center of Excellence, a National Science Foundation collaboration between Santa Fe College and the University of Virgin Islands, is hosting its inaugural Mindsets for STEM Institute. This two-day institute will take place July 18-19, 2019, at the Northwest Campus of Santa Fe College. The institute will provide faculty training on social psychological barriers to student success and interventions that combat such barriers. STEM faculty from participating institutions in Alabama, Florida, and the U.S. Virgin Islands are invited to the institute that will be facilitated by internationally recognized researchers Dr. Omid Fotuhi of the University of Pittsburgh and Dr. Valerie Purdie-Greenaway of Columbia University.

Any members of the college community interested in volunteering to make the Mindsets for STEM Institute a success should complete the volunteer form and indicate all potential shifts you are interested in and we will assign you to one of the selected options. Indicate any preferences or time adjustments in the comment section. Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated. If you are interested in volunteering but do not see a slot that fits your schedule, contact Jhenai W. Chandler at FLCLouisstokes@sfcollege.edu for alternative support roles available.
