Open Enrollment Now Through November 1

October 22, 2019 – Santa Fe College’s annual Open Enrollment period for the 2020 benefit plan year began Monday, October 21, and runs through Friday, November 1. Open Enrollment is an opportunity for employees to add new plans, make plan changes, and add or remove dependent and/or domestic partner coverage for the upcoming plan year. No changes can be made after the Open Enrollment period unless they are due to a qualifying event such as marriage, divorce, or birth. Benefits available during Open Enrollment for the 2020 benefit plan year include medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, flex spending, cancer insurance, sick leave pool, life insurance, disability insurance, and Legal/ID Shield. Plan designs for FloridaBlue Health, Delta Dental, and Legal/ID Shield will remain the same for the 2020 plan year. Beginning January 1, 2020, VSP Vision will offer a plan enhancement allowing qualified dependent children coverage through the end of the calendar year in which they turn age 30. Concerning rate changes, Delta Dental premium rates will remain the same for the 2020 plan year for both PPO (Standard and Premier) and HMO plans. Although rates have increased slightly for SF’s group Health Care plans offered through Florida Blue, BlueOptions Traditional PPO 3766, Blue Care-10 Managed Care HMO, and BlueOptions 5190 and 5191 HSA plans, plan designs will remain the same and the College will continue to pay 100% of the employee monthly premiums. The BlueOptions 5190 and 5191 HSA plans also include a Health Savings

You can save money on prescriptions by using an in-network pharmacy, which currently includes Walgreens, Costco, Publix, Sam’s, Walmart, and a host of independent pharmacies. You can review the in-network options by consulting this list provided by Florida Blue.

Please remember that if you wish to participate in the 2020 Flex Spending or Dependent Care plans you must log on to the FBMC portal during the designated Open Enrollment period to make this election. Elections from the 2019 benefit plan year will not carry over into the 2020 benefit plan year. Portal access and registration instructions are available via the FBMC Registration Link.
