SF Men’s Basketball: Saints Secure Home Win Against Webber

November 14, 2019 – The Santa Fe College men’s basketball team cruised to a 106-45 victory as they hosted Webber International University Warriors’ junior varsity team Wednesday evening. The Saints were able to overpower the Warriors throughout the entire game in the lopsided triumph.

As the margin ballooned to 26 at the end of the first half (49-23), the Warriors had trouble getting their offense going against the Saints in the second and the Saints went on a 29-3 run immediately after halftime. The gap continued to widen until the end of regulation. The Saints looked strong, with bench players contributing 43 points on the night.

Luka Filipovic led the Saints with 20 points alongside 16 rebounds, with 14 of his 20 points coming in the second quarter. Nikola Jerotic also had a good night with 19 points and six rebounds of his own, while three other players had 10 points each – Josiah Tynes, Noah Thorp and Tre Howard.

The Saints (4-1, 0-0 MFC) will play host to State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota Saturday at 2 p.m.
