SF Brain Bowl Team Seeking New Members

Do you like trivia or “Jeopardy!”? Are you a bit competitive? Maybe a little nerdy? Then here is a great opportunity for you!
The Santa Fe College Brain Bowl team (also known as Quiz Bowl) is now recruiting new members to join the team for the spring 2020 term. Brain Bowl is an academic quiz tournament in which teams of students compete against other college teams by answering questions about a wide variety of subjects, such as history, art, science, literature, mathematics and popular culture. The Brain Bowl team travels to other colleges for competitions and host one or two at the Northwest Campus.
The SF team has qualified for the statewide championships each of the last four years, and has qualified for the national championships for the past two years.
The team is particularly in need of members who are interested in literature, history, and other social sciences, but everyone is welcome to join for travel, camaraderie and fun!
SF will host a practice tournament Saturday, Jan. 11, at 9:30 a.m. in Building A and students are welcome to observe or compete in the tournament.
Our first practice this week will be on Tuesday, Jan. 7, at 1 p.m. at a location to be determined. If you are interested in joining the team, contact the coach, Asha Brunings at brain.bowl@sfcollege.edu or by phone at 352-381-7144.
