The Reserve covers 74,000 acres of coastal lands in northeast Florida from Ponte Vedra Beach to Palm Coast. The GTM Research Reserve is one of 29 National Estuarine Research Reserves around the country that focuses on research, education, and stewardship. The GTM Research Reserve conducts biological monitoring and research and sees over 5,000 students per year in its K-16 environmental education programs in addition to community education presentations, teacher workshops, and other special events or outreach activities. SF students will volunteer alongside GTM staff to support their efforts and learn about environmental issues concerning our local community.
