Statement from Santa Fe College President Paul Broadie II Concerning COVID-19 and College Classes

March 13, 2020 – Information regarding COVID-19 is changing rapidly and we will remain proactive and responsive as we address the health and well-being of our students, employees, community and society.  Therefore, Santa Fe College will begin moving classes online, where possible, effective Monday, March 16, 2020, through at least March 30, 2020. Students will receive further guidance from the Academic Departments.

The Northwest Campus and all SF centers will be open and staffed as usual and continuing to provide student services. The College will continue to remain operational so long as it is safe and based on recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control, the Florida Department of Health and local health agencies.

We are also canceling all large gatherings hosted by the college or held on college property; this includes our Spring Arts Festival and Open House.  Our Facilities staff will continue to disinfect and clean the campus and high touch spaces. In accordance with CDC guidance, we are requesting that meetings typically held in close quarters be conducted utilizing technology.

I want to thank our faculty and staff as well as the entire college community for the major role you are playing to ensure the health and well-being of our community and society.

We are monitoring this situation as it evolves and will respond with measures that are in the best interest of our college, our community, and our society. Therefore, please continue to monitor our Santa Fe College website and Santa Fe Today for updates.
