Golden Girls Make Their Debut at the SF Teaching Zoo

The SF Teaching Zoo welcomed seven new golden conures to the zoo last month.

April 2, 2020 – On Friday, March 13, the Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo welcomed Blanche, Rose, Sophia and Dorothy. These are just four of the seven new golden conures who now live at the zoo.

Over the last several months, staff and zookeepers designed and constructed the conures’ brand new, spacious habitat. With open spaces and ample branches, the birds are climbing, flying and exploring their new home. As with most parrots, they spend most of their day calling and squabbling.

While the SF Teaching Zoo is closed to the public, we’ll be sharing updates about these golden beauties and their shenanigans. Stay tuned and “thank you for being a friend”!
