HR Weekly Message to SF Employees – April 10, 2020

April 11, 2020 – Santa Fe College Human Resources Director Lela Frye released the following weekly message to faculty and staff at the college.

Dear SF Faculty and Staff,

It’s amazing to see how everyone is navigating our new virtual work environments and embracing technology. Each week we find new ways to continue the business of the college, stay connected and support students.

In that same spirit, we have developed a fully online summer fee waiver process for employees and their dependents. Like the standard process, Employee and Dependent Fee Waivers are still available in Human Resources and begin with contacting HR for the form. Rather than coming to HR to pick up the paper form, you will now email human.resources@sfcollege.edu and request a fee waiver.

While we are quarantining to stay well, what a great time to focus on our overall wellness! HR will be including weekly tips for health and wellness along with kicking off a new employee wellness contest soon. We encourage you to check out the many free fitness apps that are out there that can help you with stretching, relieving stress and other physical fitness goals. This Prevention story will help you get started. When beginning or changing an exercise routine, remember to do so according to your level of fitness and overall health. If you have questions or doubts about any recommended training, consult your physician for advice on what might be right for you.

I have been asked to remind you to check your public-facing voice mail messages and automatic email replies to make sure that we are not inadvertently sending the message that the college is closed.  Please make certain that messages provide information about how to reach you during remote delivery of services.

The college continues to follow all CDC guidelines, as well as state and local orders.  This has resulted in changes to those continuing to work on campus and most recently includes a strong recommendation to wear masks.  We wanted to share information about the proper use and care of masks with you, as we recognize many of you may be using masks as you go out. A huge shout out to SF employees, like Nance Lempinen-Leedy, who are helping to make these masks for use by on-campus essential employees.  Please contact her for more information about this project nance.lempinen-leedy@sfcollege.edu.

We also wanted to let you know that the SF Help Desk continues to offer extended service hours of Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. – 10 p.m. and Friday through Sunday 8 a.m. -4:30 p.m., with the exception of this Sunday, April 12, when the Help Desk will be closed.

Wishing you all a wonderful week and please let us know how we can help and support you.

Lela
