May 19th is Endangered Species Day
Endangered Species Day is an opportunity for people of all ages to celebrate and learn about endangered species and how to protect them. The photo above is from CES’s spring break service project with GTM Research Reserve where our team helped rescue an injured sea turtle. We’re highlighting some outstanding organizations that are taking action:
- Check out Endangered.org’s virtual activities
- Learn about SF Teaching Zoo’s phone recycling program and how it is protecting endangered gorillas
- Take a virtual tour of UF’s Honey Bee Research and Extension Lab
- Learn about the Endangered Species Act from the Florida Museum of Natural History and a list of threatened and endangered species in Florida from FWC
