SF’s Office Access and Inclusion Hosting Racial Equity Institute Training in September

August 17, 2020 – Santa Fe College’s Office of Access and Inclusion is hosting the Racial Equity Institute’s “Measuring Racial Inequity: A Groundwater Approach Plus” Friday, Sept. 4, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. online. This special Groundwater Plus presentation will be a full-day introduction to Racial Equity offered to both SF employees and students. In this presentation, REI organizers will use stories and data to present an argument that racism is fundamentally structural in nature. By examining the characteristics of modern-day racial inequity, the presentation introduces participants to an analysis that most find immediately helpful and relevant.

SF will also be hosting a shorter, three hour “Measuring Racial Inequity: A Groundwater Approach” workshop Wednesday, Oct. 28, online from 9 a.m.-noon.  Participants must register in advance. The registration is free for SF students and employees, members of the community can register for a $49 fee.
