Description:     
This is a part-time, paid position, and only students currently enrolled in a program are eligible to apply.
This internship is a great opportunity for a student interested in gaining work experience in a highly energetic marketing department for a national organization. As an intern you will be expected to work quickly and efficiently to meet deadlines as well as collaborate with others for various projects. Dress is business casual with casual Fridays.

Intern Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in classes at any college or university
  • Ability to use both Mac and PC devices
  • Well-versed in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
  • Minimal experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to identify branding between various branches of NCCER

Job Duties:

  •  Generate concepts and ideas for ads, campaigns and marketing collateral
  • Develop, refine and revise ads, campaigns and marketing collateral
  • Revitalize already existing ads, campaigns and marketing collateral
  • Revise forms, brochures, flyers and other collateral as necessary
  • Design multipage documents
  • Design internal projects such as invitations or fund raiser materials
  • Create social media graphics and infographics
  • Proof and edit copy
  • Research current industry trends
  • Organize files, photos and videos
  • Assist in packing for trade shows and gathering collateral
  • All marketing team members will support the other departments within NCCER through meetings and updates
  • Other duties as assigned; as this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee

Qualifications:

  • Self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-task, detail oriented, and deadline-driven environment
  • Creativity, initiative, organization, good judgment, and the ability to express thoughts clearly and simply
  • Must be proactive, positive, a team player, and have a “get it done” approach
  • Currently enrolled in classes at any college or university in a graphic design program or related field
  • Must be dependable in attendance and performance
  • Video production, website maintenance and social media management skills a plus

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Works in an indoor office environment with moderate noise level
  • The employee may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision
  • The employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear
  • The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to grab, pull, grip, lift and reach with hands and arms
  • The employee is frequently required to use a computer
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

Software Skills:

  • Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite 6 or above (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign)
