Santa Fe College Honors Those Who Served

November 10, 2020 – Santa Fe College will be closed Wednesday, November 11, 2020, in honor of Veterans Day. Traditionally, the college has held a ceremony on the Northwest Campus to pay respect to those who gave of themselves to serve in the military. This year, because of physical distancing requirements brought on by the COVID-19 global pandemic, there will be no on-campus ceremony, however, a video featuring both student veterans and others who have served was produced to commemorate Veterans Day.

Current students who have not already done so, as well as prospective students, are highly encouraged to contact SF’s Veterans and Military Success Services (VMSS) for information and services that can help you succeed in your transitioning from military to civilian life. The VMSS office can help with academic and student support services, tutoring, tuition and fee waivers, VA health care and other services.

SF also offers a Veterans Bridge Scholarship that is designed to help veterans cover certain expenses while awaiting the funding from the GI Bill. This year, 17 student veterans received scholarships to help with expenses for the 2020-2021 academic year. Anyone interested in contributing to the Veterans Bridge Scholarship can contact the Santa Fe College Foundation.

To our student, faculty and staff veterans at SF, we thank you for your service!
