Guidelines for All Visitors to the SF Teaching Zoo

December 7, 2020 – Following the phased reopening to Santa Fe College staff and zoo members, the Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo is open to the public every day from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. The zoo has implemented new guidelines for the health and safety of all guests, zookeepers and the animals, and ask that all visitors help protect our flock on your next visit to the zoo.

  • Cloth face coverings are required for all guests ages four years old and up
  • Groups must be 10 people or less
  • Please keep at least six feet between yourself and other groups during your visit
  • We have increased cleaning and disinfecting of high touch areas, and added hand sanitizing stations around the zoo.

Animals are also susceptible to COVID-19, so the trail has been modified to ensure a 12-foot distance between guests and the animals, and altered to create a one-way trail.

Visitors can download the updated zoo map before your visit and watch a video about the new guidelines. Additional information is available on the SF Teaching Zoo website.

Zoo staff are excited to welcome you and your family back to the zoo!
