February 18, 2021 – For the fourth consecutive year, Santa Fe College has earned the status of Military Friendly. Institutions earning the Military Friendly ® School designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. Over 1,200 schools participated in the 2021-2022 survey with 747 earning the designation.
The 2021- 2022 Military Friendly® Schools list will be published in the May issue of G.I. Jobs magazine and can be found at militaryfriendly.com.
“We are honored to once again receive this designation,” SF President Paul Broadie II, Ph.D. stated. “Our college is fortunate to have a strong military community. We deeply appreciate the sacrifices our veterans have made, the value they bring to our college, and their unwavering devotion to our country. Our commitment to our veterans is ingrained in the fiber of the college and permeates throughout the entire institution.”
Methodology, criteria, and weightings were determined with input from the Military Friendly ® Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community. Final ratings were determined by combining the institution’s survey response set and government/agency public data sources, within a logic-based scoring assessment. Military Friendly ® measures the institution’s ability to meet thresholds for student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment, persistence and loan default rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans.
“It is an honor to be classified as a Military Friendly institution,” said SF’s coordinator of Veterans and Military Success Services, Sandra Torres-Pintos. “Santa Fe has always cared for and supported its veterans, servicemembers and military families way before the recognition existed. It is ingrained into our DNA and we serve these students as a sense of gratitude for their service and a commitment to excellence.”
