Progress Continues on the Blount Center Expansion Project

June 28, 2021 – Progress is continuing on the Santa Fe College Blount Center expansion project. The new three-story, 87,366 square-foot facility is on schedule to open to students in the spring of 2022. Crews from Parrish-McCall have nearly completed the external portions of the building and are making good progress on the inside as well.

Upon its completion, the new Blount Hall will be SF’s home for Business and IT degree programs and will offer students a full array of student services including admissions, financial aid, academic advising as well as a library and study spaces for both small and larger groups of students. The college’s downtown expansion will also provide a convenient location for underserved communities in and around the City of Gainesville to greater access to higher education opportunities in high-demand, high-wage fields of study.

The new facility will also more than double the business incubation space for SF’s Center for Innovation and Economic Development (CIED). The CIED not only provides an array of services to local entrepreneurs, but the expanded space will also give students the opportunity to work with and learn from area business leaders.

Parrish McCall is also providing a time-lapse video of the progress made on the new facility.
