September 3, 2021 – The Santa Fe College Police Department has been nominated for a 2021 Rise Award from Axon for their annual Run With the Cops event. Axon recognized law enforcement officers and agencies for their work in their communities.
The SF community can vote for SF’s Run With the Cops once a day, every day now through Friday, Sept. 17, at https://riseawards.us.launchpad6.com/riseagencyawards/entry/38.The top 10 finalists with the most votes in each category will then be reviewed by a panel of judges and the winners will be selected by early October and announced at the Axon Accelerate conference the following month.
Run With the Cops, which started in 2015, supports those in our area with special needs. Participants at the event can run, walk or roll along the SF track with law enforcement officers from area agencies. They can get an up-close look at police and fire rescue vehicles, learn important safety tips, and have the opportunity to meet and interact with the members of law enforcement who protect and serve our community.
