SFPD Will Participate in Prescription Drug Take Back Day

October 18, 2021 – The Santa Fe College Police Department is participating in the Drug Enforcement Agency’s (DEA’s) Prescription Drug Take Back Day, where they will be accepting unused prescription drugs. Beginning Thursday, Oct. 21, and running through the weekend, there will be a drop-off box in the SFPD lobby where people can deposit tablets, capsules, patches and other solid forms of prescription drugs. Liquids (including intravenous solutions), syringes and other sharps, and illegal drugs will not be accepted.

Last April, the DEA had over 5,000 collection sites across the country and more than 839,000 pounds of prescription drugs were collected. To learn more about Prescription Drug Take Back Day, visit takebackday.dea.gov or call the SFPD at 352-395-5519.
