LGBTQ+ Resource Center Observes Transgender Day of Remembrance

November 18, 2021 – Today, from 9 a.m. until noon, the Santa Fe College LGBTQ+ Resource Center will mark Transgender Day of Remembrance with an information table and altar in the S-Breezeway. Transgender Day of Remembrance was founded by Gwendolyn Ann Smith after the 1988 murder of Rita Hester, a transgender activist in Boston. On this day, we mourn all who are lost to anti-transgender violence, an epidemic that disproportionately impacts trans women and nonbinary people of color.

We will have local resources to share, as well as pins and stickers to give out! Come out, support your queer SF community, and pay respects to the individuals who have lost their lives.

We will remember them.
