Canvas Help is Merging with ITS

November 29, 2021 – Canvas Help is merging with the Information Technology Services (ITS) Helpdesk. ITS is working closely with the Center for Academic Technologies and Training (CATT) to train support staff to answer all typical Canvas questions. The Canvas Help number, email and online forms will also merge with the ITS Helpdesk.

What’s changing? Hopefully, not much! Due to Canvas Help team retirements, we have been quickly training staff and integrating them with the daily operations of the ITS Helpdesk. We ask that you “pardon our dust” during this transition as we work to meet your support needs.

CATT will continue to support Canvas training and will handle more intricate Canvas projects such as publishing courses, adding students and instructors to courses, LTI integrations, and deep dives for information on things like student activities and academic dishonesty, etc. This change will allow them to act in a more consultative manner, providing critical, complex solutions and creative course design.

When will the change occur? Starting Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021, the ITS team will begin receiving all Canvas calls, emails and form inquiries. This soft launch will allow all our staff to work hand in hand for the last couple of weeks of the year and prepare for full transition in January.

How do I reach Canvas Help? Faculty and staff will continue to call 352-395-7344, email canvashelp@sfcollege.edu or use the problem report link for questions. Students will continue to call 352-395-5000, email canvashelp@sfcollege.edu or use the problem report link.
