Head Coach Johnny Wiggs and Santa Fe College Baseball have announced the 2022 schedule for the Saints.
In 2021, the Saints concluded the campaign with a 33-13 record, a Mid-Florida Conference Championship with an 18-4 mark in MFC play, and a runner-up finish at the FCSAA State Tournament.
The Saints will return many players from the 2021 squad for the 2022 season-opener, which will take place on the SF Baseball Field on Friday, Jan. 28 against Hillsborough Community College. The first pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
The matchup with the Hawks represents the first of 25 home games for the Saints throughout the season, which consists of 51 games in total prior to the beginning of postseason play.
If the Saints are able to qualify, postseason play is scheduled to begin on May 6 and May 7 with the First Round of the FCSAA / Region 8 Tournament. Teams will be vying for a trip to Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland, Fla. for the final playoff of the state’s top four teams, scheduled for May 13 – May 15.
