SF Dual Enrollment Student Creates New Math Formula

February 21, 2022 – Santa Fe College High School Dual Enrollment student Glenn Bruda is gaining attention for creating a new calculus formula. His new technique – the Maclaurin Integration – has helped him in the running for the Davidson Fellowship Scholarship, which could award him up to $50,000 in scholarship funding.

Bruda’s formula can correctly solve complex calculus problems more than 70% of the time as opposed to the 20% success rate of other methods. After coming up with the formula one night, he conferred with faculty in SF’s Math department to check his work. SF also consulted with the Universtiy of Florida’s Math department for verification.

Bruda’s project has been published through Cornell University’s webpage.

Congratulations, Glenn!
