Santa Fe College Named a Top 10 Military Friendly College

March 7, 2022 – For the fifth consecutive year, Santa Fe College has earned the status of Military Friendly. This year, SF was named a Top 10 school. Institutions earning the Military Friendly ® School designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. Over 1,800 schools participated in the 2022-2023 survey with 665 earning the designation and just 282 selected for the “Gold” award status.

The 2022- 2023 Military Friendly® Schools list will be published in the May issue of G.I. Jobs magazine and can be found at militaryfriendly.com.

“It is truly an honor to be recognized as a Military Friendly institution,” SF President Paul Broadie II, Ph.D. stated. “This prestigious designation is due to the great work from Sandra Torres-Pintos and her team at our Veterans and Military Success Services. Their dedication to our student veterans and their families, helping them navigate through their unique challenges has been vital to promoting the success of our student veterans. Our college is fortunate to have a strong military community.

Methodology, criteria, and weightings were determined with input from the Military Friendly ® Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community. Final ratings were determined by combining the institution’s survey response set and government/agency public data sources, within a logic-based scoring assessment. Military Friendly ® measures the institution’s ability to meet thresholds for student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment, persistence and loan default rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans.

“It is an honor to be classified as Military Friendly for a fifth straight year,” said SF’s coordinator of Veterans and Military Success Services, Sandra Torres-Pintos. “Santa Fe College has been dedicated to supporting our veterans and their families and would do so with our without this recognition. We deeply appreciate the sacrifices our veterans have made and are dedicated to seeing them succeed in the classroom and beyond.”
