SF’s Student Art Show Opens April 8

April 6, 2022 – The opening reception and awards ceremony for Santa Fe College’s Annual Student Art Show will take place Friday, April 8, at the SF Gallery located in Building M, Room 147. The reception starts at 7 p.m. and the awards ceremony will begin at 7:30 p.m. The annual event  is a curated exhibit featuring works submitted by SF students in the college’s Visual Art program. This year also marks a return to the on-campus component. The COVID pandemic had forced the previous two years events to go online.

In addition to seeing the work from SF students, each year, SF Visual Arts faculty select five pieces to represent the college in League for Innovation National Student Art Competition. The League for Innovation invites its board member colleges to participate in the annual Student Art Awards competition. The Student Art competition enables community college students to compete with their peers across North America. Notably, the competition provides a means to showcase a selection of the best works being created by today’s community college students.

The exhibit runs through Friday, May 27, at the SF Gallery. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
