SF Teaching Zoo Hosts Party for the Planet This Saturday

April 10, 2022 – In honor of Earth Day, the Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo is hosting Party for the Planet: Spring into Action! We will be celebrating April 16, 2022 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. right here at the zoo. Regular admission applies, and tickets are only available at the gate the day of the event.

This event is perfect for the whole family. We welcome you and your kids to explore the zoo and participate in fun activities such as games, crafts, training demonstrations, keeper talks, animal encounters, and more! Learn to build like a beach mouse, save a sea turtle, make a backyard habitat, and spring into action to save species. Explore the kids sensory play space, join a special presentation, and get your face painted by Fabulous Faces. We will also be joined by local conservation organizations in front of the zoo. Visit with our animal ambassadors, chat with the zookeepers, and learn about fun ways we can all enjoy and conserve nature.

Join the Party for the Planet challenge! Bring a reusable water bottle to fill at our water bottle refill drinking fountain, bring a packed lunch in reusable containers, or bring an old cell phone to donate to Gorillas on the Line. Show the welcome table you’ve completed 1 of these challenges to win a prize! (Available to the first 150 people who participate, all ages, limited to 2 per household. Welcome table will be right by the ticket window).

There will be an additional scavenger hunt challenge for children during the event. The first 150 kids to complete the scavenger hunt will receive a separate prize.
