SFPD Participates in Take Back Day for Prescription Drugs April 28-30

April 26, 2022 – The Santa Fe College Police Department is participating in the Drug Enforcement Agency’s (DEA’s) Prescription Drug Take Back Day, where they will be accepting unused prescription drugs. Beginning Thursday, April 28, and running through Saturday, April 30, there will be a drop-off box in the SFPD lobby where people can deposit tablets, capsules, patches and other solid forms of prescription drugs. Liquids (including intravenous solutions), syringes and other sharps, and illegal drugs will not be accepted. 

Last fall, the DEA had nearly 5,000 collection sites across the country and more than 744,000 pounds of prescription drugs were collected. To learn more about Prescription Drug Take Back Day, visit takebackday.dea.gov or call the SFPD at 352-395-5519.
