Retirement Celebration for Cathy Keen

May 9, 2022 – Please join us in thanking Cathy Keen, Assistant to the President, at her retirement celebration Friday, May 13, from 10 to 11 a.m. in the President’s Area.

Cathy has been an invaluable member of the college president’s team, first with former President Jackson Sasser from 2011 until his retirement in 2020, then for current President Paul Broadie since his arrival.

Over the past 11 years Cathy has provided flawless support to the presidents and members of the college. She has been instrumental in communications and public affairs matters that have ensured that our varied constituencies and friends in the community, state and nation, as well as the faculty and staff have remained informed and connected to the college. Her commitment has helped ensure that the college has remained an admired leader in higher education.

“Santa Fe College has a multitude of many different communities, yet our service has a common bond in the respect we show for each one,” Dr. Broadie said. “This is amplified through Cathy’s commitment to communicating our college’s exemplary qualities and those of the people who define our institution.”

Cathy came to the college from the public information office at the University of Florida. Before then, she was a journalist for The Gainesville Sun and newspapers on the West Coast.

Cathy looks forward to spending more time with family, including as caregiver for her 96-year-old mother. Please join us in saying farewell to Cathy as she begins a new phase in her life.
