Volunteer on MLK Day of Service

Martin Luther King, Jr., Day of Service is the only federal holiday that is also designated by Congress as a national day of service – a “day on, not a day off.” Santa Fe College will be closed on MLK Day, but SF students can sign up to spend the day volunteering in our community. Join Student Life’s Civic Engagement and Service Office on Monday, January 16 for an MLK Day service project in partnership with Bread of the Mighty Food Bank and Keep Alachua County Beautiful. We’ll meet at SF’s Blount Hall at 8:30 a.m. and walk over to Bread of the Mighty Food Bank together, removing litter we find along the way. Our team will serve a morning shift helping the food bank process donations. Afterwards, students can check out the King Celebration Annual Commemorative March in downtown Gainesville. To sign up, email sarah.blanc@sfcollege.edu.
