Alternative Spring Break 2023: Hurricane Ian Relief

Residents of Southwest Florida are still recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Ian. Student Life’s Civic Engagement and Service office will partner with the United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades to assist with ongoing recovery efforts in Fort Myers for the 2023 Alternative Spring Break service trip. Volunteer activities include processing donations, preparing care packages, and repairing damaged structures with guidance and leadership from disaster relief professionals. Students will gain first-hand experience serving in long-term disaster recovery, non-profit services, and community care. 

Civic Engagement and Service’s 2023 Alternative Spring Break trip will take place from Monday, March 13 through Wednesday, March 15. Students are required to submit an application as there is limited space available. All travel expenses including lodging, transportation, and food are covered for students who are selected to attend. Applications are due on Monday, February 13 by 11:59 p.m. ET.

Travel Eligibility Requirements

  • You must submit your application before by 11:59 p.m. ET. on Monday, February 13
  • You must be a currently enrolled Santa Fe College student
  • You cannot owe any outstanding fees to the College
  • You must have a minimum 2.0 GPA
  • You must be at least 18 years old
