51st Spring Arts Festival Returns to Santa Fe College

January 23, 2023 — After a three-year hiatus Santa Fe College is excited to announce the return of the historic Spring Arts Festival on Saturday, April 1, 10 a.m.- 5 p.m., and Sunday, April 2, 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. Founded in 1969, this Gainesville landmark event will be hosted at the Northwest Campus of Santa Fe College and continue to highlight diverse regional and local visual artists, student performances, and independent businesses.

Founded in 1969, this landmark Gainesville event will highlight diverse regional and local visual artists, student performances, local food trucks and more.

“We’re excited about the Spring Arts Festival moving to SF’s beautiful Northwest Campus this year. The original festival took place in 1969 on the grounds of the Thomas Center, which was the campus for the college. Thus, our 51st event is going to be the triumphant return of the historic event back to SF,” remarked Kyle Novak, SF Art Gallery Manager.

The festival will feature juried national artists and, as always, include community artists and SF Students. These artists will showcase jewelry, sculptures, ceramics, fiber arts, glass, wood, photography, mixed media, oil and watercolor paintings, printmaking, graphics and digital art.

“Additionally, this is a great opportunity for us to showcase our college to the community as we highlight our amazing campus, academic departments, student works, and most importantly, who we are and what we do. In addition to a juried art show, SF Students will have a chance to have their own booths to display, promote, and sell their works.”

“We are also inviting students to perform, dance, showcase, and play music to show their exceptional talent. This artful weekend will also feature family-friendly activities and programs at the Zoo, Planetarium, SF Gallery, Art Studios, Museum of Earth Science, the Stage at Oak Grove, and more. We welcome everyone to join us and celebrate this exciting weekend together.”

Live performers including music and dancers will perform during the festival on the campus grounds. Children and families will have an opportunity to play and learn with art-themed activities and events across campus.

Mark your calendars for this exciting event!
