President Paul Broadie II, Ph.D. and provost Dr. Lisa Armour present Mario Mutis with the AFC Professor of the Year Award on Feb. 21, 2023

February 24, 2023 – For the second year in a row, a Santa Fe College faculty member has been recognized by their peers in the Association of Florida Colleges. Mario Mutis was named the 2022 Professor of the Year from AFC’s Faculty Commission.

During Tuesday’s District Board of Trustees meeting, SF President Paul Broadie II, Ph.D. congratulated Professor Mutis for his “dedication to our students and for helping them expand their horizon through art.”

The president also noted that although SF’s student success rates point to the quality of college instructors, the fact that the college has been recognized two years in a row is a testament to the reputation of SF throughout the Florida College System.

In 2021, Michelle Freas was named AFC’s Professor of the Year and Andy Shepard was named a 2021 Distinguished Professor.
