Construction Project in Lots 6, 7 as SF Prepares to Open Academy

July 28, 2023 – As Santa Fe College prepares to welcome 75 incoming ninth-grade students to the Academy of Science and Technology, Facilities Services is working with contractors to adjust the traffic flow in Parking Lots 6 and 7. The lots, located by Facilities Services and the SFPD, will be where parents of Academy students will be able to drop off and pick up their children.

SF employees who usually park in those two lots will notice construction vehicles in the area during the project and are asked to be additionally vigilant while crews are working. The work will begin Monday, July 31, and is expected to be completed before students arrive at the Academy for the first day of classes Thursday, Aug. 10.

Upon completion, SF employees who park in those lots should continue to exercise caution and expect increased traffic in the lot while parents are dropping their children off at the Academy.

The Academy school day begins at 8:03 a.m. and traffic in the area should increase as early as 7:30 a.m. Classes end each day at 2:15 p.m. with increased traffic in the area for at least 30 minutes before and after the school day ends.
