“Your Story Begins Here” Virtual Wall

Tell us your SF story! How did you get here? Where do you want to go? What are your goals for this semester?

I am 64 years of age. I have been to many schools over the years but never received a degree. I began to take classes at SF College August 2021 with goals to get my AA degree & take American Sign Language classes to become a Sign Language Interpreter for my church. This semester I'm taking 2 of my core classes and desire to pass them with a "A". I am meeting so many wonderful people (staff & students) who have been encouraging me on my way. I am very excited about this journey I am on & confident I will accomplish my goals!!!
I am a 21 year old full time college student… I work full time and have a busy schedule of course. My story is more then 300 words but I’d like to write some words of encouragement if I may. I hope all students reading this message find relief and comfort in my sharing. Don’t become overwhelmed from school or life but take one day at a time so that you may focus on one thing at a time. I hope you all reach your goals of this fall semester. Remember that when you fail, because you will, that it’s not about the failure in the moment but about the next moment when you get up. Of course we have a destination we want to reach in life, but as you make way, enjoy the journey you’re taking to get there and appreciate the small things. Get involved in clubs and school activities. Take the risk of having fun & give yourself grace. Be involved in the Santa Fe College life, the only regret you’ll have is not doing it.
