SF Teaching Zoo Adjusts Admission Prices, Doubles Conservation Commitment

August 22, 2023 – In an effort to maintain accessibility while ensuring continued excellence in animal care and conservation, the Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo is adjusting admission prices effective September 1, 2023. The new pricing will be as follows:

  • Adults (13-59) – $10
  • Children (4-12), Seniors (60+), UF students, faculty and staff (with Gator1 ID) – $6
  • Children 3 and under, SF students, faculty, staff and retirees (with SFID) – Free

Annual memberships have also increased in line with admission changes.

  • Individual – $35
  • Couple – $60
  • Family up to 4 – $75
  • Family up to 5 – $95

The zoo will continue to offer a variety of discounts to support the community. Teachers, active military and veterans, healthcare workers, and first responders (police, firefighters, EMT) will receive discounted $6 admission with valid ID. Individuals who receive EBT assistance can visit the zoo for $3 per person (up to 4 people) as part of the Museums for All program.

These updated prices reflect the SF Teaching Zoo’s dedication to achieving our mission of adding value to the lives of our students, enriching our community and improving the future for wildlife. The adjustments have been carefully considered to support the zoo’s ongoing development, including the maintenance and expansion of immersive habitats and educational opportunities.

To date, the zoo has donated over $140,000 to conservation initiatives which directly support wildlife and their habitats globally. In 2015, the Quarters for Conservation program was launched, dedicating 25 cents of every paid admission to conservation organizations worldwide. With the revised pricing structure, the zoo will double its impact, directing 50 cents from each paid admission toward conservation organizations working to protect wild animals and places.

“Our commitment to conservation and preservation of animals is reflected in the changes we are making,” Jonathan Miot, director of the Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo said. “This price change allows us to support the community, our animal residents and wildlife around the world while keeping up with the increased costs we have absorbed since 2019 and throughout the pandemic.”

The Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo is open daily from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., with last ticket sold at 2:30. The zoo is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day. For more information about the Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo, please visit sfcollege.edu/zoo or call 352-395-5633.
