SF Holds Constitution Week Events, Sept. 18-20

September 12, 2023 – This year’s Constitution Week at Santa Fe College features three events – Dustin Fridkin will explore the one of the most pressing political issues of our time with “Unprecedented: The Constitutional Implications of the Former President’s Indictments.” The event will be held Monday, Sept. 18, at 2 p.m. On Tuesday, Sept. 19, at 2 p.m., Allen Beck and Donna Waller consider the state of electoral participation: “Voting Rights: Current Challenges and Hopes for Reform.” Both events will be held in the lobby of the Lawrence W. Tyree Library.

Back by popular demand, David Price will be hosting a Constitutional Trivia Contest featuring food, beverages and prizes as part of SF’s annual Civics Fair. The event, sponsored in part by Student Life’s Civic Engagement and Service Office, will be held Wednesday, Sept. 20, at 11:15 a.m. in R-001.

SF’s Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences provides quality instruction to promote student learning in six disciplines. Faculty in Anthropology, Geography, History, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology contribute to the college’s General Education Curriculum by teaching students about our historical/political world, the interaction of people and culture, and the diversity of human experience.
