November 17, 2023 – The Santa Fe Saints Men’s Basketball team finally met defeat Thursday night. Heading into their match against the Florida Gateway College Timberwolves undefeated, the Saints hoped to keep their momentum alive.
The Timberwolves’ aggression proved too much for the Saints’ defence. Despite a last-minute 3-pointer by Saints guard Kevin Pazmino that gave the Saints the lead, the Timberwolves responded with back-to-back threes that pushed them to an 84-77 win.
However, hope is not lost for the rest of the season.
“We will watch film and practice and will get better from this,” Saints Head Coach Chris Mowry said. “Our next opponent (Palm Beach State College) plays a similar style of basketball and present the same issues defensively, so we will need to be prepared to play another difficult opponent.”
The Saints host the Palm Beach State College Panthers this Saturday, Nov. 18 at 4 p.m.
