November 28, 2023 – Caesar Saint has a problem.

A diligent student at Santa Fe College, Caesar has been working hard to achieve his dream of becoming a software engineer. However, his life takes an unexpected turn when his father, who was the sole breadwinner of the family, loses his job. Caesar’s family begins to struggle to make ends meet. Caesar is forced to take up a part-time job to support them.

Caesar finds it challenging to manage his finances. He’s unable to pay his tuition fees on time. His grades suffer. He’s worried that he will have to drop out of college and give up on his dreams. He knows that once a student leaves college, they are unlikely to return.

What can Caesar do?

Caesar reads an article on Santa Fe College’s newSFeed about the Life Happens Emergency Aid Grant. Interested, he immediately contacts Dr. Bea Awoniyi, the College Ombudsperson, who helps him apply for the grant. This opportune assistance allows him to continue his SF education.

Caesar’s financial hardship is not uncommon. Emergencies can happen to anyone at any time. The Santa Fe College Life Happens Emergency Aid Grant is a financial assistance program that helps students overcome temporary financial crises so that they can continue their education.

Students shouldn’t have to end their dreams because of the unexpected. Santa Fe College supports these students when their college education is at risk. For information about the Emergency Aid Grant and other relevant resources, visit https://www.sfcollege.edu/studentaffairs/emergency-aid/.
