January 3, 2024 – Santa Fe College will honor the life of Dr. Steve Bingham, who passed away last month. Dr. Bingham served as director of SF’s Big Band for 15 years, and the college community is invited to a celebration of life this weekend.
A FUNeral in his honor will be held Saturday, Jan. 6, at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church in Gainesville. That evening, the Jackson N. Sasser Fine Arts hall will open at 5 p.m. for guests to remember Dr. Bingham. There will be a piano, keyboard, bass and guitar amps and a full drum kit on stage and musicians are encouraged to bring their instruments for an informal performance from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
